Hundreds turn out across the Barossa Valley for Anzac Day 2016
Warm weather and bright sunshine saw many tens of thousands of Australians turn out in major capital cities in honour of Anzac Day 2016 - but equally - and perhaps more poignantly - thousands more turned out to commemorate Anzac Day at memorials large and small in rural and outback Australia where families and friends gathered to remember the men and women who left their tiny towns to fight in the Great War far away.

Across the Barossa Valley,  hundreds gathered at their local war memorials or RSL halls to pay tribute to their sons and daughters who left our shores not knowing the hell they would ultimately face - and who for many would not return.

At Williamstown, the southeastern gateway to the Barossa, hundreds turned out at dawn to see a march to the town’s RSL Memorial - hundreds which included a remarkable number of young Aussies whose presence saluted Anzac diggers and those soldiers, sailors and airforce personell who have followed since and whose sacrifices echo the great traditions of their forefathers....
Pull up a cuppa and take in our video tribute to our Anzacs with these highlights of the Williamstown ceremony - a ceremony repeated across rural and outback Australia. (Best viewed at the size below).  Lest we forget.
